The IFS model can be utilized to the dynamics of couples and parents as well as dynamics between individual sub-personalities in therapy.
There is some evidence that Internal Family Systems (IFS) Therapy Workshops in Silicon Valley can be useful for improving function and well-being. For example, in one study, participation in IFS therapy was associated with a reduction in depressive symptoms in people with rheumatoid arthritis.

Although more research on IFS is needed to evaluate its effectiveness, the National Register for Evidence-Based Programs and Practices (NREPP) lists IFS as a type of therapy that shows promise for treating:
Generalized anxiety disorder
Physical health problems
At IFS, your therapist will help you identify and understand different parts of yourself. According to the IFS model, there are three kinds of identities or parts to each person:
Release: This part is considered to be the result of a past traumatic experience. We are less likely to explore this section.
Manager: It is believed that these parts try to protect themselves from the alienated parts and maintain control over our inner world as well as our outer environment.
Firefighters: As the name suggests, these units are believed to be able to conquer exiled units when activated and help them stay hidden from themselves. Substance abuse such as alcohol can be an example of fire fighting.
